Called Out Ones

"And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Matthew 16:18

The word Church in the Greek is ‘ekklesia’, which means ‘called out ones’.  We believe that the mission of the church is to be called out of the world to go back into the world. This means we must not be of the world in our behavior, but we must be willing to go into the world with the gospel of Christ.  Christ calls us in the Great Commission to “Go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you….”Matthew 28:19-20. True discipleship is not complete until the disciple becomes one who disciples.
We are the body of Christ and are to be His representation to those around us. Through the vehicle of our LifeCells, we encourage the members of our body to go into the world by identifying the passion and heartbeat of the members of each LifeCell group. Finding a common passion, each LifeCell then seeks to find tangible ways to serve the community of Katy. The goal of this service is to build long lasting relationships over time. This is done in a variety of ways and begins in our circle of influence (family, friends, co-workers and classmates), it then extends to our local neighborhood mission field, and finally to the ends of the earth through short term mission trips and financial and prayer support for those called into full time missions.
For more information on the ways you can serve, contact your LifeCell leader or the Church office.
